ELMHURST, IL – Hundreds of colorful umbrellas are coming back to downtown Elmhurst for a second year, and they have nothing to do with rain.

The displays are returning to the same three spots – Schiller Court at York and Schiller streets, the area next to the art museum and public library, and the North York Stage at 254 N. York St.

The displays are scheduled to last from April through September, with each one changed out in the middle of the summer.

The displays are seen around the world. Last year, Elmhurst was the sixth city in the United States with the umbrella artwork.

"We are thrilled to be bringing one of the most famous and beautiful art displays in the world back to Elmhurst City Centre," the City Centre said in a news release Wednesday.

The Umbrella Sky's opening day part is set for 4 to 7 p.m. April 27 at the corner of York and Schiller streets at the City Centre Fountain Plaza.

The party is set to feature live music from The Sam Fazio Band, with beer and wine sold to be enjoyed on the street.
