An article about St. Peter's United Church of Christ's newly adopted Welcoming Policy

St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Elmhurst, IL announces the adoption of their Open, Affirming, and Welcoming (OAW) Policy. The OAW policy promise welcomes communities that historically have been excluded or marginalized by the church.

The promise reads:

At St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, we rejoice in our congregation, which is strengthened by diversity, including diversity of culture, economic status, age, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, and physical or mental ability. We affirm that God is glorified when we welcome all people to our community of faith, as Jesus did. It is our mission to “Love God, Nurture Faith, and Share Gifts.” No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
