State Gives $451K For North Elmhurst Charging Station

The local station would be among 37 planned in six Illinois counties, officials said.

ELMHURST, IL – State officials on Monday said they would distribute $25.3 million in grants to construct electric vehicle charging stations along freeways.

The money will pay for 37 projects in six counties, with a total of 182 new charging ports, officials said.

One charging station is set for DuPage County. It is planned for Electrify America at the York Center Plaza southeast of York Street and Crestview Avenue. The grant is $451,634.
