Stolen Gun, Eatery Theft: Elmhurst Cops
A stolen gun and car were found on an Elmhurst street, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a stolen gun, a restaurant theft, a bitten delivery person, a stumbling man, retail theft, a car burglary, a disturbing call and fugitive drivers, among other things. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Stolen gun
- A gun was found in a car about 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North York Street. The car and gun were reported stolen in Chicago. Chicago police were notified.
Restaurant theft

- A man stole a bottle of wine about 8 p.m. Saturday at Mata Ne New Asian restaurant, 130 N. York St. An officer spoke with the suspect, who denied taking the bottle. An investigation is pending.
Delivery person bitten
- A woman making a delivery to a house in the 900 block of South Bryan was bitten by the homeowner's dog. DuPage County Animal Service was notified.
Stumbling man

- Police were called about a man stumbling about 11 p.m. Thursday near the railroad tracks at Park Avenue and York Street. The man had a cut above his eyebrow. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Retail theft
- Two females and a male stole two carts filled with liquor about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. The females were described as black, having heavy builds and 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7. The male was described as black, skinny and possibly 6-foot-1.
Car burglary
- Someone entered an unlocked car and stole several tools about 10 a.m. Friday at Timothy Christian Schools, 1061 S. Prospect Ave. The suspects drove away in an unknown vehicle, which was last seen heading east on Butterfield Road. An investigation is pending.
Disturbing call
- An employee at Jewel, 944 S. York St., told police she received a disturbing phone call from a stranger about 9 a.m. Friday.
Fugitive drivers
- A blue Maserati and a black Audi were seen speeding about 3:30 a.m. Saturday near North and Route 83. The drivers drove away from an officer, last seen heading east on Interstate 290 from North.
Trespassing
- Someone threw rocks about 3 a.m. Saturday at an apartment in the 900 block of North York Street. No damage was found. The suspect was given a no-trespass notice.
Stolen car
- A resident in the 200 block of West North Avenue told police about 2:30 a.m. Saturday about an unoccupied vehicle that was parked in the driveway of her house. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Addison. Addison police took possession of the car.
Delivered to the wrong place
- A resident in the 400 block of South Fairfield told police that she did not receive her pizza order Dec. 21. She discovered it had been sent to the wrong address, which was a construction site. An officer contacted the construction company, which said it had several employees on the job and that no one knew where the pizza went. The issue was reported Saturday to Elmhurst police.
Battery
- A woman was struck in the head about 9 p.m. Sunday at Courtyard by Marriott, 370 N. Route 83. The suspect left before officers arrived. An investigation is pending.
