Styrofoam Recycling Offered In Western Springs

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Buried under a mountain of polystyrene foam, or Styrofoam, after the holidays? Residents can bring it for recycling 9 a.m. to noon Saturday (and the first Saturday of every month) at the Western Springs Recreation Center, 1500 Walker Drive.

All block Styrofoam and clean food containers are accepted. Unacceptable items include peanuts, insulation, foam fabric and squishy plastic packing material. Consider transporting your Styrofoam in a reusable container to reduce waste.
