Suspicious Visit to Elmhurst House: Cops

Woman knocks on man's door and asks him to make a phone call for her, report says.

ELMHURST, IL – A woman knocked on the front door of an Elmhurst house last week and told the person answering the door that her phone was dead, police said.

The woman asked the resident to make a phone call to have someone pick her up. The resident made the phone call, and about four minutes later, the suspect’s ride arrived, police said.

Upon reviewing his doorbell video, the resident said he saw the woman using her phone after she told him it was dead, police said. It was unclear why she would do this.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the 300 block of Poplar Avenue. The report was filed four days later.

The woman was described as black, 30 years old, 5-foot-8, 200 pounds. having long black hair and brown eyes, and wearing a white tank top, ripped blue jeans and a yellow backpack.
