Teen Brings Airsoft Rifle To York High: Cops

In another case, an Elmhurst man threw an orange cone at a utility location worker, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving disorderly conduct, battery, a stolen car, open burning and a DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst charge log:

Disorderly conduct

  • A 19-year-old man who lives in the 200 block of East Forest Avenue was cited at noon Monday on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said he brought an airsoft rifle to the parking lot of York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. He was released.
  • A 39-year-old Aurora man was cited about 9 p.m. Tuesday on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the incident occurred at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. The man threatened to beat up another man. The suspect was released.

Battery

  • A 63-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Michigan Street was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at his house on charges of battery and disorderly conduct. Police said the man threw a traffic cone at a utility location worker, striking him. He was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 46-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 900 block of South Hillcrest Avenue was arrested about 12:30 a.m. May 7 on a domestic battery charge. Police said the man flicked his hand toward a woman, striking her chin and neck. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Stolen car

  • A 71-year-old Broadview man was cited about 9 p.m. Tuesday at Route 83 and Riverside Drive on a charge of criminal trespass to a vehicle. Police said the man was driving a car that was stolen in Oak Park. He was released.

Open burning

  • A 59-year-old homeless man was cited about 7 p.m. Wednesday on charges of open burning and consuming alcohol in a public place. Police said the man had a campfire in the area of Yorky's restaurant, 609 W. St. Charles Road. He was released.

DUI

  • A 25-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11 p.m. Monday at York Street and Industrial Drive on charges of DUI, stopping or parking on the roadway and possession of open alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the police station and then released.
