'Of Thee I Sing' Exhibit at Elmhurst Public Library
Traveling display explores politics and patriotism represented in Broadway musicals.

Elmhurst, IL – Of Thee I Sing, a traveling exhibit that explores the intersection of entertainment, politics, and patriotism in Broadway musicals, from George and Ira Gershwin’s Of Thee I Sing to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s megahit, Hamilton, is on display on the 2nd Floor of Elmhurst Public Library. This timely display, which coincides with the 2022 voting season, frames the history of politics through the lens of musical theater.
The exhibit is on loan from The Great American Songbook Foundation through November 27.
The Library further examines music with its fall quarter Common Connection programming theme, A Symphony of Stories. See a full listing of events hosted by the Library at elmlib.org/common.
