Train, Car Collide Near York Road In Elmhurst

ELMHURST, IL — A car and train collided in Elmhurst Thursday morning, forcing a closure of multiple streets, including York Road, during the morning rush hour. Elmhurst police said just before 9 a.m. that York Road had reopened in both directions, but Vallette Street remains closed while the train is inspected by rail crews.

No one was injured in the crash, which city of Elmhurst officials said occurred at 7:15 a.m. The crash occurred on the Canadian National tracks just south of Vallette.
