Tree of Life Chiropractic Focuses on Healthy Families and Healthy Environment
Dr. Kelly dedicated to removing obstructions in the mind and body, and keeping environmental impact to a minimum.

Thomas Edison said, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
Dr. Kelly Synowiec-Moroney, or Dr. Kelly as she is known by her patients and throughout the community, believes just that. Thus, her motto at in Elmhurst is, “Healthy Families by Choice, Not Chance.”
“Chiropractic care is a natural way to solve health problems,” Dr. Kelly said. “Rather than relying on prescription drugs, chiropractic care seeks to locate the source of your symptoms and address the underlying cause so the problem doesn’t keep recurring.”
Chiropractors remove obstructions in your nervous system, called subluxations, by adjusting the bones of the body back into their correct position. The adjustments relieve nerve pressure and allow the body to function at its optimal potential. Chiropractors don’t cure diseases, but they allow the body to function as it is meant to.
At Tree of Life Chiropractic Center, 551 S. Spring Road, Dr. Kelly strives to restore the body’s balance and function with treatments that are as painless as possible. She uses adjusting instruments to assist her in the healing process. Through hands-on healing, treatment is gentle and simple, with no cracking. After the adjustment, many patients report feeling relief of pain and improved mobility. Others report a sense of well-being or a soothing, calm feeling.
Chiropractic can aid numerous medical issues, including but not limited to: acid reflux, allergies, asthma, colic, ear infections, headaches, pregnancy related issues, children’s issues (ADD, autism, etc.), depression/anxiety, digestive issues, headaches/migraines, immune issues, weight issues and senior issues.
“Medication has its place,” Dr. Kelly said. “But it is not the answer. Through reducing subluxations, we can get your body to an optimal level to fight off infection on its own.”
Patients have reported positive results.
“My son started visiting Dr. Kelly in December 2011 after struggling with chronic ear infections,” Rachel Olson said. “Since starting weekly adjustments, he hasn’t had a recurrence of infection, which eliminates the need for unnecessary antibiotics and surgery.”
In 2007, 51 percent of American children and adults were taking one or more prescription drug for a chronic condition. In March 2008, an Associated Press investigation uncovered minute concentrations of pharmaceuticals in drinking water supplies of at least 46 million people in two dozen major American metropolitan areas. The federal government does not regulate prescription drugs in water.
“Pharmaceuticals can be found in our water and soil, where we grow our fruits and vegetables,” Dr. Kelly said. “We leave less of an imprint on the environment when we’re not adding poisons to it.”
Chiropractic centers typically use a holistic approach not only in patient care, but in most of their business practices. At Tree of Life, all patient files are electronic, massage tables are covered with organic sheets, the office is cleaned with environmentally friendly products, walls are decorated with low VOC paints, no radiation is used in assessments and X-rays are developed on-site, eliminating the need for extra travel.
At home, Dr. Kelly works to lessen her impact on the environment. Her family eats organic food, uses green cleaning products, has a high efficiency washer and strives for few chemicals in their home environment. Outside the home and office, Dr. Kelly is the Go Green chairperson and Safe Routes to School committee member at Edison Elementary School and a member of Elmhurst Cool Cities Coalition.
