Truck Hangs Over Elmhurst I-290 Bridge: Cops

The truck is in a "precarious" position, police said. All eastbound lanes are closed.

ELMHURST, IL – All lanes of eastbound Interstate 290 were closed about 5 a.m. Thursday because of a crash, Elmhurst police said.

The crash involves a truck hanging on the edge of an I-290 bridge over Elmhurst's Vallette Street, police said. All traffic is being diverted.

Vallette, which connects to Electric Avenue, and the Illinois Prairie Path are closed in both Elmhurst and Berkeley because of the crash.

The closures are expected to last several hours as state authorities work to remove the truck from its "precarious" position, police said.
