Two Charged After Elmhurst Sprint Store Burglary: County
Two people have been charged after stealing iPads and iPhones from a Bensenville T-Mobile and an Elmhurst Sprint store, the county said.

ELMHURST, IL — Two people have been charged after stealing iPads and iPhones from a Bensenville T-Mobile and an Elmhurst Sprint store, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office said in a release. Shiayon Andrews, 18, of Harvey, and a juvenile have each been charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of theft.
Andrews and the juvenile appeared in court Thursday, Dec. 6 where Judge George Bakalis set bond at $75,000 with 10 percent to apply for Andrews and Judge Michael Wolfe ordered that the juvenile be detained. The identities of two other men allegedly involved is presently unknown, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office said.
At 11:51 a.m. Dec. 3, the four men entered the Bensenville store at 1137 S. York and allegedly stole multiple iPads and iPhones and left the store, according to the State's Attorney's Office. About 10 minutes later, the same four men entered the Elmhurst store at 624 N. York Road, where they also allegedly stole iPads and iPhones and left.

An investigation conducted by the Elmhurst and Bensenville Police Departments led to Andrews and the juvenile who were both taken into custody on Dec. 5.
“Yet again we see four men allegedly traveling to DuPage County intent on committing a crime,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a release. “And yet again, law enforcement’s swift response resulted in the apprehension and charging of two of the suspects. I am confident as this investigation continues we will charge the remaining suspects in this case."

The investigation into the matter continues, the State's Attorney's Office said. Anyone with information is asked to call the the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050.
Andrews’ next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2019, for arraignment. The juvenile’s next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 10.
