'Unbelievable' Level Of Elmhurst D205 Staffing
An official reported the percentages of vacancies among types of positions.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst School District 205 has just one vacancy among its hundreds of certified employees, the superintendent announced Tuesday.
"Wow! That's worth a snap, a clap or something," Superintendent Keisha Campbell said at a school board meeting. "That is unbelievable."

She said the one vacancy is short-term.
Certified staff consists of teachers and administrators.

Like schools elsewhere, other categories of District 205 employees are experiencing more vacancies.
For instance, 21 percent of teacher's aide positions and 17 percent of cafeteria positions are vacant, Campbell said.
For employees covered by the Service Employees International Union, 6 percent of positions are vacant.
