The Elguezabals, both in their 40s, were fatally shot early Saturday morning.
Her friend, Nicole Datoli, set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe. As of Tuesday morning, $6,305 had been raised, toward a goal of $10,000.

"(Julie) was a beautiful woman inside and out and would do anything for her children," Datoli wrote on GoFundMe. "As many of you know, tragedy struck our town of Villa Park early Saturday morning. Leaving behind 2 beautiful children. I have no words as I cannot even imagine how devastated the girls must be."
She said the "beautiful family" has been a part of the community for 18 years.

"I feel like it’s our responsibility to help them financially. Anything that you could give would help them tremendously I’m sure," Datoli said.
Datoli said she would like to send money to the oldest daughter, so they can have financial help for their "unknown future."
Winston Elguezabal was arrested two weeks ago on domestic battery charges. Shortly after, he was released. He wore an electronic monitoring device and was ordered not to be near his wife.
Early Saturday morning, the device alerted police that he was close to her. When officers arrived moments later, they found the couple dead, authorities said.
