Bands, politicians and businesses take part in the annual event.

ELMHURST, IL – It wasn't as warm as last year, but the Elmhurst St. Patrick's Day Parade drew thousands Saturday nonetheless.
Bands, businesses and other groups took part in the annual procession. Candidates for alderman, school board and park board were also on hand.
Plenty of candy was thrown for kids. And Elmhurst police were on patrol. One officer said he put on his uniform once a year — for the parade.
