ELMHURST, IL — The number of coronavirus patients is rising at Elmhurst Hospital. The increase is not alarming, but it is a sign the virus has yet to go away.

As of Wednesday, Elmhurst Hospital had eight coronavirus patients. A month ago, the hospital had none, according to its reports. Around the country, the numbers are ticking up.

In response to a Patch question, the hospital said most of its COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated. Last week, a federal official called the latest trend "a pandemic of the unvaccinated."
