Vocality Comes to Bethel UCC for Concert

Chicago Children's Choir alums will present a memorable evening of contemporary jazz and beloved standards.

Bethel United Church of Christ proudly presents Vocality on Saturday, September 30th at 7:00 p.m. as part of its Music@Bethel Concert Series. Vocality is a festival chorus comprised of alumni and current members of Chicago Children’s Choir as well as young vocal artists from a wide array of communities within and surrounding the city of Chicago. Select members of Vocality who will be performing in the Bethel concert include Allie Bradford and Alexa Moster on vocals; Dave Hiltebrand, vocals and guitar; Brandon Lampkin, vocals and piano; Mitchell Owens, vocals and percussion.

The vocal group is to present a memorable evening of selections from musical theater to popular and contemporary music. Founded by Josephine Lee, President and Artistic Director of Chicago Children’s Choir, Vocality’s mission is to exemplify the highest level of choral singing with an emphasis on excellence and diversity among its membership. Vocality made its premiere in July 2015 at Ravinia Festival in a concert performance of Porgy and Bess with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

The Music@ Bethel Concert Series is celebrating its 19th season under the direction of world-class, award-winning pianist Jeffrey Panko, artistic director of the concert series. For nineteen seasons Panko has been producing and performing in classical, jazz and world-music events for the intimate concerts held in the church’s intimate and acoustically perfect sanctuary.
