The city has received an assurance from its garbage contractor, an official said.

At Tuesday's City Council meeting, City Manager Jim Grabowski said Phoenix-based Republic Services has assured officials that it intends to complete the job Wednesday.
"They are sending eight additional trucks tomorrow to finish what they started," Grabowski said. "They have stood by that word. This is not the only community where this has happened. There are numerous DuPage communities where this has taken place."
