Winner, Winner Spaghetti Dinner
Elmhurst Troop 14 Prepares for Its Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
Elmhurst Boy Scout Troop 14 is hosting its annual Spaghetti Dinner next weekend, Saturday, April 21st at Visitation Grade School Gym (851 South York Street, Elmhurst) from 4pm to 8pm. The cost is only $7 per person for a hearty spaghetti dinner. This will be the 29th year that Troop 14 has held this fundraising event. Funds raised support the Troop's activities such as a week long summer camp at Camp Freeland Leslie near Oxford, Wisconsin, winter camping in Lowden, Illinois, canoeing for a week in the boundary waters of Canada, and hiking at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. These are just a few of the activities in which the Troop's Scouts can participate. In addition, the Troop is very active in our community. This year alone they have conducted a Thanksgiving food drive for families in need, made bag lunches and delivered them to homeless individuals on the streets of Chicago, built picnic tables for the Elmhurst YMCA, erected a handicap ramp at Visitation's Adoration Chapel, and the list goes on. The Troop's motto sums up their belief as it relates to adventure and service: "Get Out There." So be a winner and please consider supporting Troop 14 next Saturday by attending this annual fundraising event.
