Woman Accused Of Biting, Kicking Elmhurst Cop In Traffic Stop

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a woman accused of attacking an officer, assault at a store, domestic battery, disorderly conduct, a stolen car, porch piracy and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Aggravated battery to officer

• Lakeesha Tate, 51, of Aurora, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at North and Myrtle avenues on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, aggravated DUI, resisting an officer and speeding. Police said she kicked and bit an officer. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Assault

• Patrick Harty, 60, of Villa Park, was arrested Monday on charges of assault and criminal trespass to a business. Police said he returned to 7-Eleven, 155 E. First St., after a disturbance and would not leave after being told to do so several times. He threw several store items at a person. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Domestic battery

• A 39-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of Fellows Court was arrested about 2 a.m. Monday at his apartment building on two domestic battery counts. Police said the victim had a red mark on her left cheek, with swelling. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly conduct

• A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of South Fairfield Avenue on charges of disorderly conduct, obstruction of identification and possession of open alcohol by a passenger. Police said he provided a false name to an officer. He was released.

Stolen car

• A car was stolen about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. An investigation is pending.

Contempt of court

• A 38-year-old Darien man was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Butterfield Road and Colfax Avenue on a Cook County contempt-of-court warrant. He was released.

Obstructing an officer

• A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested shortly before midnight Monday at York Street and Grand Avenue on a charge of obstructing an officer. He was released.

Porch piracy

• A package was stolen from a front porch about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Avery Street. An investigation is pending.

Fugitive driver

• An officer tried to stop the driver of a blue Mustang about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Butterfield Road and Commonwealth Lane. The driver sped away.

DUI

• A 65-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
• A 48-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue and County Line Road on charges of DUI, transportation of open alcohol by a driver and speeding. He was taken to the police station and then released.
• A 39-year-old Carol Stream man was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and Third Street on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
