Woman Charged In Elmhurst Road Rage, Accused Of Trailing Victims: Cops

In another incident, a man was charged after repeatedly calling and texting a woman, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving road rage, phone harassment, car theft, ATM tampering, a fight and a fire. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Road rage

  • A 38-year-old Aurora woman was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on a disorderly conduct charge. During a road rage incident, the woman followed the victims to the parking lot where they work, Culture Construction, 215 W. Wrightwood Ave., police said. The woman is accused of getting out of her car, yelling at the victims and trying to spit on them. She was given a no-trespass notice and then released.

Phone harassment

  • A 28-year-old Streamwood man was arrested Wednesday on a phone harassment charge. Police said the man was repeatedly calling and texting a woman in the 800 block of North York Street throughout the day. He turned himself in at the police station. He was released.

Car theft

  • A 2020 gray Nissan Murano was taken without permission from the parking lot about 7 p.m. March 6 at Al Piemonte Buick GMC, 364 W. Grand Ave. An investigation is pending. The report was filed Tuesday, more than a month later.

Tampering with ATM

  • Suspects tampered with an ATM and tried to withdraw money about 2 a.m. Monday at BMO Harris Bank, 1121 S. York St. Responding officers identified their car and stopped the suspects, but they fled. They were later taken into custody. An investigation is pending.

Fight

  • During a fight, someone damaged the front door of a building in the 100 block of East Lake Street. The incident occurred about 2 a.m. Tuesday. An investigation is pending.

Fire

  • Police helped the fire department with a fire about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Firewater BBQ, 635 W. North Ave. Patch has sent an inquiry to the city for more information.
