Woman Grabbed During Elmhurst Hospital Food Delivery: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving battery, a dog bite, a fugitive driver, fraud, theft, threatening messages and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Battery

• A woman told police that a person grabbed her while delivering food about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. An investigation is pending.
• A 38-year-old Itasca man was arrested about 7 p.m. Thursday on three counts of battery causing bodily harm, two counts of battery involving physical contact and three counts of disorderly conduct. Police said the incident occurred at the business complex at 665 W. North Ave. The man was released.

Domestic battery

• A 28-year-old Villa Park woman was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on two domestic battery counts. Police stopped a car in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue and discovered the woman had hurt someone. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
• A 66-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Indiana Street was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at his house on two domestic battery counts. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Dog bite

• A woman told police that a dog lunged at and bit her dog, which she was walking about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Crestview Avenue and Willow Road. Her dog suffered a small cut. An animal bite form was completed and sent to DuPage County Animal Services.

Fugitive driver

• About 4:30 a.m. Thursday, an officer tried to stop the driver of a Lincoln Nautilus SUV that had been reported stolen. The driver, who was seen near North Avenue and Route 83, sped east on Interstate 290.

Fraud

• A resident in the 100 block of North Haven Road told police Thursday about receiving a call from a suspect posing as a bank fraud center employee. The suspect persuaded the resident to wire money to an unknown account and hand-deliver cash to an unknown courier at a place in Elmhurst.

Theft

• Someone broke the front passenger-side window on a man's work van and stole several items between 11 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday in the 100 block of West Butterfield Road. An investigation is pending.

Threatening messages

• A resident in the 100 block of South Kenmore Avenue told police Saturday about receiving threatening messages. The suspect denied making any threats, but agreed to stop contacting the resident.

DUI

• A 26-year-old Melrose Park man was arrested about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of East St. Charles Road on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
• A 52-year-old Riverdale woman was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at St. Charles Road and West Avenue on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car, violation of a concealed carry license while under the influence of alcohol, use of unsafe tires and illegal transportation of alcohol. She was taken to the police station and then released.
• A 24-year-old Naperville man was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at York Street and Roosevelt Road on charges of DUI, unlawful marijuana possession by a driver, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
