York Hockey Club Collects "Toys for Tots" at Games on Friday, Dec. 5

York Hockey Club is collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's "Toys for Tots" program.

Bring new, unwrapped toys to the varsity and junior varsity home games on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Addison Ice Rink, 475 Grace St., Addison.

York students Chris Knudsen and Eddie Maciejewski will sing The Star-Spangled Banner before hockey action kicks off at 7:05 pm for the junior varsity and the puck drops at 8:40 p.m. for the varsity match. Both teams play Oak Park River Forest (OPRF) Hockey Club.

The collected toys will be presented to a U.S. Marine Corps reservist before the varsity game. Toys should be new and unwrapped. No stuffed animals or toy weapons.

Hockey Checks Hunger

York Hockey is also partnering with OPRF Hockey to collect food donations for their “Hockey Checks Hunger” campaign. Non-perishable food items donated at the Dec. 5 games will be presented to OPRF Hockey when the teams face off again on Sunday, Dec. 7 at Ridgeland Commons in Oak Park.
