York Varsity Girls' Tennis finishes in 26th Place at I.H.S.A. State Tournament

York finished the I.H.S.A. State Tournament with 9 points, which landed them in 26th place in the State tournament out of over 300 teams.

I was pleased with the way things came together this season. Some highlights from this season are York finished with a record of 16 wins and 10 losses, I.H.S.A. Sectional Champions (8th Straight), West Aurora Quad Champions, and Champions of the Buffalo Grove Invite (8 Teams).

This year’s state team was made up of all seniors. They were very competitive and handled themselves with class throughout the entire season. They have represented the York Tennis Program very well over their 4 years. We will miss all of these players as they very talented on the court and they also regularly exhibit positive leadership qualities that our younger players can learn from.

Website. Angela Avgerinos finished her career with 104 wins, which ties her for 4th on the All-Time List of wins in the York Girls’ Tennis Program.
