York Wrestlers Sweep at Quad Meet Saturday

Dukes win easily over Wheeling, Hoffman Estates and Willowbrook.

The York varsity wrestling team followed up its dual-meet victory over fifth-ranked Hinsdale Central by defeating Willowbrook, Hoffman Estates and Wheeling in a quadrangular meet on Saturday. 
 
The Dukes swept every match while blanking Hoffman Estates 71-0. York also coasted to a 59-17 triumph over Wheeling, and knocked off Willowbrook, 42-27. 
 
Among the match highlights, senior Jim Nudera edged Wheeling's Chris Johnson 10-8 in a marquee matchup at 189 pounds. Following their victories on Saturday, Troy Valdez and Rudy Guthrie remain undefeated for the season at 135 and 125 pounds, respectively. 
 
The Dukes resume action Friday night in dual meet at Proviso West. On Saturday, York will compete in the Prospect Invite.
