The total budget for Evanston in 2016 is $294,710,257. The following is a list of the ten highest earners in the city, with their position and earning amount listed.
- Walter Bobkiewicz, Evanston City Manager - $207,831
- Richard Eddington, Evanston Police Chief - $182,368
- Martin Lyons, Asst. City Manager/CFO - $179,554
- William Farrar, Evanston City Attorney - $169,315
- Evonda Thomas-Smith, Evanston Health Director - $156,235
- Gregory Klaiber, Evanston Fire Chief - $153,061
- David Stoneback, Director of Public Works Agency - $149,616
