18-Year-Old Shot 'Several Times' In Howard Street Sandwich Shop
A pair of gunmen burst into a restaurant on the Evanston border Thursday afternoon and began shooting.

EVANSTON, IL ā Chicago police are investigating the shooting of a teenager who was shot several times at a sandwich shop on Howard Street Thursday afternoon, just across the Evanston border. Police said an 18-year-old man was standing inside an eatery in the 2000 block of West Howard around 12:13 p.m. when he was shot repeatedly by a pair of gunmen.
Two unknown men entered and began firing, hitting the teenager "several times." He suffered gunshot wounds throughout the body and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in stable condition, police said.
Witnesses said the shooters fled south into Chicago, according to Evanston police. There was no additional threat to the public anticipated from the shooting, which investigators suspect may be gang-related.
