2 of Evanston's 5 Beaches Close For Swimming

EVANSTON, IL - From the City of Evanston: Due to seasonal lifeguard and beach staff going back to school, Greenwood Street and South Boulevard Beaches will be closed for swimming from Monday, August 28 through Friday, September 1. Beaches will still be open for sand activities.

Lee Street, Clark Street and Lighthouse Beaches will remain open for normal swimming hours, 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., during that week. In addition, all five public swimming beaches will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. throughout Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 2 through Monday, September 4.

Evanston residents are reminded to take advantage of the final free beach day of the season at Clark Street Beach on Monday, August 28.
