$21K Reward Offered For Information On Rogers Park Shootings

Several groups have come together to offer reward money for information that leads to an arrest.

CHICAGO — A $21,000 reward is now being offered for any information that helps to solve two homicides in the Rogers Park neighborhood. On Saturday, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms announced a $5,000 reward. The Rogers Park Builders Group also added $5,000, and Cook County Crime Stoppers added $1,000.

Last week, the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago announced a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the suspect's arrest.

Douglass Watts, 73, was walking his dogs in the 1400 block of West Sherwin on Oct. 30, when he was shot in the head just after 10 a.m.

Then Eliyahu Moscowitz, 24, was shot in the head in the 1100 block of West Lunt Avenue south of Loyola Park around 10:20 p.m. the next day, police said.

Police believe the suspect lives in the neighborhood, and many residents say the shootings have left them terrified to go outside.

The Chicago Police Department released two surveillance videos that show the masked suspect walking down a sidewalk and jogging down an alley.

Police said the suspect has a unique walk — he takes steps with his feet pointed out.

Dozens of detectives are investigating the shootings, police said.
