The Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival Returns to Evanston, Illinois
CHICAGO (September 10, 2015) – The second annual Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival returns Friday, September 18 (4 p.m.-9 p.m.) Saturday, September 19 from (10 a.m.-9p.m.), and Sunday, September 20 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) along Church and Sherman streets in Evanston.
“The Evanston Art and Big Fork festival is delighted to return to Evanston’s charming downtown with a wide-variety of one-of-a-kind art, live music and great local cuisine,” says Amy Amdur, president and CEO of Amdur Productions. “Evanston’s rich cultural arts community, coupled with its growing list of upscale restaurants and breweries makes for a perfect cultural destination event that brings art, food, and fun to residents and visitors.”
Free and open to the public, the Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival will showcase the work of more than 130-juried artists from across the country in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, and wood. Art collectors can look forward to viewing the works of standout artists such as copper elements artists Daniel Hedblom who works in the unique art of flame painting, high fired stoneware artist Michael Imes and “painterly” photographer James Cole who blurs the sense of difference between an actual photograph and a painting. In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats.

Festival attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy musical performances, including local favorites, such as Wedding Banned on Friday (7 p.m.-9 p.m.), Stache! on Saturday (7 p.m.-9 p.m.) and American rock duo Cirrus Falcon on Sunday (12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m.). Recently recognized by the New York Times for its’ farm-to-table restaurants, world-class distilleries and breweries, a number of Evanston’s top restaurants and breweries will be serving up dishes all weekend long, including The Stained Glass, Farmhouse, Chefs Station, Smylie Brothers Brewing Co., Mumbai Indian Grill, Giordano’s and That Little Mexican Café. The Festival also has kid-friendly activities including an art scavenger hunt and spin art, assuring there is something for everyone. This Festival is also handicap-friendly.
