3-on-3 Girls Basketball Tournament Planned at ETHS

EVANSTON, IL - The Girls Play Sports non-profit organization is planning a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for elementary and middle school girls.

Proper fundamentals will be the focus of the tournament, which will be held at Evanston Township High School from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 4. It will be open to girls in fourth thru eighth grade.

Girls will register as individuals and teams will be selected on-site to ensure a competitive balance. Pool play will precede a bracket-style tournament.

ETHS Athletic Director Chris Livatino said that during the same event held a year ago, more than 50 girls participated.

“This year we are hoping to grow that number to 100,” Livatino said.

The cost to play is $25 per girl, but financial aid will be available.
