3 Charged in Evanston ATM Armed Robbery

Police identify suspects accused in hold up of a woman at a Bank of America ATM on Chicago Avenue.

EVANSTON, IL - Charges have been announced in the armed robbery of an Evanston woman at an ATM on Chicago Avenue.

Trenton Norwood, 19, of the 1200 block of Sherman Avenue in Evanston, has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a weapon after being identified by police as the man observed exiting the Bank of America ATM vestibule in the 1300 block of Chicago Avenue with the 38-year-old victim Tuesday night.

Police also charged Keith Richardson, 20, of the 700 block of Dobson Street in Evanston, with armed robbery. He has been identified as the suspect taken into custody at the Dempster Street CTA station after he ran from the parking lot near the ATM.

Initial reports showed he and a 17-year-old boy were standing near an idling car that was later identified stolen out of Chicago.

The teen, who was found on the roof of a building on Sherman Avenue, was charged with attempted armed robbery.
