4 Shot in Evanston Tuesday Night

Police say a gunman fired numerous shots from an open field near Foster Street and Jackson Avenue around 10 p.m.

EVANSTON, IL - Four people were shot in Evanston Tuesday night. Someone in a field north of Foster Street and Jackson Avenue fired several shots at the group shortly after 10 p.m., witnesses told police.

Among the victims was a 24-year-old Evanston man who was shot in the head, a 17-year-old Evanston girl who was shot twice in the arm and once in the leg, a 19-year-old Evanston woman who was shot in the ankle and a 32-year-old man from Skokie who was shot in the hand.

The victim from Skokie was able to call police from the 800 block of Clark Street to report the incident, which resulted in all four victims being treated at Evanston Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old victim was able to transport herself to the hospital before police arrived on the scene.

Police do not currently have a description of any suspects.
