Accuity, Inc. Considers Move From Skokie to Evanston
City to consider helping pay for cost of employees to park.

Accuity, Inc., a business data and content solutions company with corporate headquarters in Skokie, is considering a move to Evanston.
Members of the city of Evanston’s Economic Development Committee voted unanimously this week to recommend to the city council approval of the company’s request for parking assistance to accommodate a possible move from Skokie to 1007 Church St., according to the Evanston Review.

“We don’t get many chances like this,” said city economic development official Paul Zalmezak.
In the proposed deal, Evanston would pay up to $42,000 a year for fives year for the cost of 70 parking spaces for Accuity employees in the Maple Avenue parking garage.

The Review reports an important aspect of the company’s potential move from Skokie is to retain its employees who are accustomed to having more than 135 spaces at no cost at their current location at 4709 Golf Road.

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz is excited about the possibility.
The move would provide Evanston “a rare opportunity to attract a substantial corporate headquarters in a highly competitive environment,” he wrote in a memo to the committee.
