ACT Scores Rise at ETHS; Highest in School History

The average composite score increased by nearly a full point.

ACT scores at Evanston Township High School climbed significantly in all four segments of the test for the Class of 2015, according to Evanston Now.

ETHS’ Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Peter Bavis said the scores were the highest in school history. Average scores in English rose in one year from 22.9 to 23.8, from 23.0 to 23.8 in Math and 22.3 to 23.4 in Science. Overall, the average composite score increased from 23.0 to 23.9.

“This is incredible,” Bavis said.

Scores seemed to stagger or only slightly rise at other schools in Illinois.
