American Airlines CEO To Speak at Northwestern
Doug Parker to tap into his nearly 30 years experience in the airline industry.

American Airlines chairman and CEO Doug Parker will deliver the 34th Annual William A. Patterson Transportation Lecture on Monday, April 20 at Northwestern University.
The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the OLC Forum, Donald P. Jacobs Center, 2001 Sheridan Road, on Northwestern’s Evanston campus. Sponsored by the University’s Transportation Center, the event is free and open to the public.

Parker will take questions from the audience at the conclusion of his talk.
Parker, who has worked in the airline industry for nearly 30 years, became CEO of American Airlines Group, Inc. following the merger of US Airways and American Airlines in 2013.

Previously, Parker was chairman and CEO of US Airways. Prior to the merger of US Airways and America West Airlines in 2005, he was chairman, president and CEO of America West. Parker became CEO at America West just 10 days before Sept. 11, 2001, and led the carrier through the crisis.
