FREE Harley Barke Dog Meditation and Social Event on August 30 at 11:30 am

Sit. Stay. Exhale. To celebrate the tail end of National Dog Month, August 30, dogs and their humans are invited to slow down, be present, and spend
some quality time together at Harley Barke Dog Meditation, a free dog-friendly community
gathering on the lawn of the historic Harley Clarke Mansion, 2603 Sheridan Road. The event will take place at 11:30 am until 1 p.m.
Set against one of Evanston's most beautiful lakefront backdrops, Harley Barke will embrace
the Dog Days of Summer, beginning with a 20-minute guided meditation for people and their
pups, led by Heaven Meets Earth Yoga Studio, followed by drinks, socializing and free dog
treats.

In what is known as emotional mirroring, dogs naturally read human energy and heart rates, so
when their "person" achieves a calm state, it helps teach overactive or anxious dogs how to also
develop an "off switch" and settle down.
No experience necessary, and beginners are encouraged. Just bring your dog, find a
comfortable spot and enjoy a little paws from the everyday.

Harley Barke is part of a broader series of community events and programming at Harley Clarke designed to bring people together and invite the community to experience the historic lakefront
property in new ways. Harley Clarke is dog-friendly every day, and dog treats and water bowls
are always available at the Beer Garden.
