On January 9, 2012, the first residents moved in to the second and final phase of The Mather, a Continuing Care Retirement Community located at 425 Davis Street, in Evanston, IL. These first residents just happened to be related – brothers Richard and Ed Dublin, along with their wives, Hylene and Susan, all moved the same day into their new homes. The Dublin families chose The Mather for its excellent location, not-for-profit status, and investment protection options. The Mather is comprised of two buildings (the first phase opened across the street in 2009) that are connected by a convenient, climate-controlled underground corridor. The 240 unit community, is currently 80% sold, and boasts several distinct restaurants, a fitness center, day spa, movie theater, gardens, walking paths, a Life Centre and more, for its residents, 62 years and better.
