Tee Up for Charity at the Gale Sayers Celebrity Golf Classic

Bears’ legend and hall of famer Gale Sayers will join participants once again as they tee off for charity in the Gale Sayers Celebrity Golf Classic. On Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:30 a.m., teams of four will play a round of golf on the Whittaker Woods Golf Course, located at 12578 Wilson Road in New Buffalo, Michigan. "We hope this golf fundraiser will allow us another opportunity to raise awareness for our much needed after school programs that we so strongly believe in. With so many challenges facing our youth today, we are finding that our after school programs serve as more than just an educational support mechanism. In fact, we know the more time our youth spend at school the better they perform, and I think we all can support that,” says Frank Vite, Board Member for the Gale Sayers Center.

The winners of the tournament will receive a trophy at the reception immediately following the event. In addition to the first place trophy, Lexus of Mishawaka, located at 4325 Grape Road, is offering a brand new Lexus car to anyone who gets a hole-in-one! Founder Gale Sayers and President of the Board Erric Byrd will address attendees at the reception, held at the Whittaker Woods Country Club. Superbowl champion and former tight end for the Chicago Bears Emery Moorehead will also be in attendance.
