And the Readers' Choice Winner for Best Bookstore in Evanston is ...

In a come-from-behind victory, Patch readers named their favorite bookstore in Evanston.

, leave comments and write reviews in our business directory, and Market Fresh Books was the clear winner with 61 percent of the vote. In a last-minute surge, beat out for second place, getting 12 and 11 percent of the vote respectively.

All three stores got lots of praise from fans.

Reader Liz Stitely left this for Market Fresh:

"Great location - I love to buy books there AND sell them. This is a gem of a bookstore."

Anna Fillmore added her thoughts along with another 5-star rating:

"A wide selection of titles, lots of current stuff. A very creative business with friendly staff that is well run."

This is what reader Candace Hill had to say in her of Chicago Rare Book Center:

"A clean and bright storefront, with plenty of interesting books to browse and not a speck of dust. The basement is open as well, with an affordable used book collection that is carefully chosen for quality and quirkiness."
