The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem Kicks Off Planning for the 2015 Summer Soiree

The Summer Soirée will take place at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago on Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Last month, more than fifty people, including members of The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), NorthShore physicians and staff members, family and friends, gathered at the Wilmette Wine Cellar in Wilmette to enjoy wine tasting and light fare. The celebratory event kicked off the planning for this year’s Summer Soirée, formerly known as the Hospitals’ Gala which will take place this June. Hosted by The Auxiliary, funds raised from the Summer Soirée will support the Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation at NorthShore (GCSI).

“It was wonderful to have Auxiliary members and GCSI leadership together to enjoy a wonderful evening and begin planning for this year’s Summer Soirée,” said Renee Ujiki, chair of the Summer Soirée Kickoff Event. “GCSI does such vital work to improve patient care, reduce healthcare costs and train surgeons on new, innovative, leading-edge technologies. The Auxiliary is thrilled to put together an event that will support those endeavors.”

The Summer Soirée will take place at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Guests will enjoy sensational live and silent auctions, dancing to the sound of the New Groove Band and many more exciting entertainment elements from Hype Productions and others. Tickets can be purchased by calling The Auxiliary office at (224) 364-7270 or emailing auxiliary@northshore.org.

Proceeds from ticket sales and live auction items will make a direct impact on the work the GCSI does every day. GCSI’s state-of-the-art, 13,000 square foot facility at NorthShore Evanston Hospital is home to two complementary and collaborative healthcare education, training and research programs: the Medical Simulation Program and the Surgical Simulation Program. NorthShore’s world-class Medical Simulation Program is actively improving patient care, reducing healthcare costs and improving outcomes through innovative medical scenario simulation. The Surgical Simulation Program is a leading-edge surgical training and innovation program that provides an expert resource for surgeons to train in established minimally invasive methods, and to develop and test new techniques and procedures.
