'The Barn' Opens Tonight in Evanston

Amy Morton will open her second Evanston restaurant in a former horse stable on Church Street.

EVANSTON, IL - 'The Barn,' one of the most anticipated Evanston restaurant openings in quite some time, will open for dinner tonight.

The restaurant, the second brainchild of Evanston restaurateur Amy Morton, will open its doors at the rear of 1016 Church St. at 5 p.m. It will be "lively and smart with old school table-side service and cuisine from award-winning Chef Nicole Pederson," according to a news release.

The restaurant is located in a 19th century brick barn that was once a horse stable for the Borden Condensed Milk Company.

The Barn is open Tuesday – Saturday; the bar opens at 5 p.m. and reservations begin at 5:30 p.m., with closing at 10 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday and at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Morton's other restaurant is Found Kitchen on Chicago Avenue.
