EVANSTON, IL – Seventeen members of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group’s Evanston office visited Misericordia Heart of Mercy, a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged. Volunteers toured the expansive facility and worked alongside residents for several hours in in the art studios creating projects, baking in the bakery, working in the bakery and coffee packaging areas, as well as in the laundry facility, the greenhouse, and in classrooms.
Evanston visited Misericordia during the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group and KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation’s company-wide event called Week of Kindness held from June 6th thrugh the 11th. During that time, more than 500 Realtors® from 23 of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group offices organized their own events to volunteer time and services to organizations in their respective communities.
“We were honored to work with such an incredible organization,” said Allyn Rawling, office manager of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group’s Evanston office. “Our office really enjoyed spending time with the residents and we expect to return to help out again in the future.”

The Evanston office also held a food drive in which they collected 350 non-perishable food items to drop off at the Evanston Salvation Army.
