Blogger: Just Say No to PARCC

Laurie Levy encourages District 65, ETHS to follow CPS' lead and dump test.

Laurie Levy, founder of Warren W. Cherry Preschool in Evanston, shared her reasoning as to why Evanston schools should join neighboring Chicago Public Schools in refusing to give the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), a “high stakes test” in which Illinois is one of only 8012 states committing to giving its students.

Calling the test still in development, confusing and “based on Common Core standards that have not been fully implemented in many schools,” Levy blogged in ChicagoNow on why the test should not be given in either District 65 or Evanston Township High School.
