Book Lending Machine Installed In Robert Crown Center
The machine contains over 400 books and DVDs and will be operational starting Monday, the Evanston Public Library says.

EVANSTON, IL — Unlike the stock of a typical vending machine that sells snacks and soda, a new machine installed in Evanston costs nothing and is free of calories. Starting Monday, people with Evanston Public Library cards will be able to borrow books and DVDs from a lending machine in the vestibule of the Robert Crown Community Center.
“This is another step in our process as we encourage our families to expect library services at the Robert Crown location," Library Director Karen Danczak Lyons said. "We look forward to welcoming our families to Evanston’s Robert Crown Branch Library in a few years."
Books can be checked out for two weeks, DVDs can be borrowed for one week. All material in the machine is suitable for all ages, the library announced. The library's book lending machine will be available any time Robert Crown is open. Materials borrowed from the machine can be returned at the book drop at Robert Crown or any Evanston Public Library location.
