Lou Malnati's Pizzeria has announced the completion of a comprehensive refresh at its downtown Evanston location, featuring a brand-new outdoor dining area and interior updates with thoughtful nods to Northwestern University. A reopening celebration for the enhanced location will be held on Tuesday, June 10, and is open to any member of the community who wishes to come out and join in the festivities.
The refresh introduces Lou Malnati's first-ever Happy Hour menu, featuring an all-encompassing $5 price point across food and beverages. The new offerings include signature appetizers: Chicago Style Meatballs, Ravioli Crisps, and Mozzarella Bites. Happy Hour guests can also enjoy $5 beer, canned cocktails, wine and personal deep dish or small thin crust pizzas in cheese, sausage or pepperoni varieties.
The newly remodeled interior features design elements that acknowledge the university atmosphere, including enhanced WiFi and increased bandwidth to support students and community members who want to study or work while dining.
Guests are encouraged to arrive starting at 3 p.m. on the afternoon of June 10. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4:15 p.m., with Brittany Wright, executive director, and Jill Bishop, chamber board director of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and Lou Malnati's district and general managers in attendance. The hosts will speak about the history of Lou Malnati’s, the staff, and the relationship with the Evanston community. Sparky from Chicago Fire will be there to energize the crowd.
Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy sampling until 5:30 p.m. Anyone in attendance between 3-5:30 p.m. can also enter to win "Free Pizza for a Year" as well as swag giveaways, all while enjoying an elevated outdoor dining experience at Lou Malnati's Evanston location.
The newly remodeled interior and outdoor patio, along with the accompanying ceremony,
celebrates the long-term partnership between Lou Malnati's and the Evanston community.
"We're grateful to the people of Evanston for continuing to support the restaurant two decades later," said owner, Marc Malnati. "We're excited to celebrate the refresh with the launch of our Happy Hour offerings, bringing our quality and tradition to even more occasions.”
