Join <a href="https://downtownevanston.org/about-us" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Downtown Evanston</a>, <a href="https://www.wcofe.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Woman's Club of Evanston</a> and <a href="https://www.brightview.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Brightview Landscaping</a> on Sunday, April 26, from Noon-2PM for an Earth Day Clean-Up event aimed at fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship. Individuals, families, office groups, students, etc. are all encouraged to lend a hand in making our downtown business district a cleaner and more welcoming place to live, work and visit!
Participants will gather at the north side of Fountain Square to get outfitted with gloves, bags and maps before heading out in small groups to pick up litter and debris along assigned corridors within the downtown Evanston business district. When finished, participants will bring the trash bags back to Fountain Square for disposal. A special thanks to Brightview Landscaping for providing the clean-up supplies and for removing all trash collected during the event. Volunteers who pre-register below and make it to the clean-up event on Sunday 4/26 will be entered into a drawing for a $100 <a href="https://app.yiftee.com/gift-card/evanston" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Evanston E-Gift Card</a>, courtesy of Downtown Evanston!

Ede2 celebrates its 15th Anniversary with the original dance production of The Little Dancer: A Reimagining of Le Petit Prince. Created by Artistic Director Rachel Molinaro, this out-of-this-world production follows the story of a pilot marooned in the desert where she meets a mysterious stranger who traveled to Earth from a far away planet in search of the meaning of connection and friendship. This family-friendly show features an eccentric cast of characters who populate various planets, such as space royalty, a talking rose and a friendly fox, who all teach The Little Dancer unique lessons on becoming a good person and how to care for others. The Little Dancer production is a recipient of the Illinois Arts Council Creative Projects Grant for 2026 and the Evanston Arts Council’s Cultural Fund Grant for 2026.

This Unite Against Racism event aims to connect our community with transformational leaders working to advance equity, justice, and opportunity.
In this program, we welcome Carmen Patlán, Executive Director of the <a href="https://ciplakecounty.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Center for Immigrant Progress</a> in Waukegan, IL, in conversation with Roger Moreano, YWCA Evanston-North Shore’s Senior Director of Institutional and Community Equity.
Together, they will explore the history and lived realities of immigration in the United States, including immigration enforcement policies across administrations, the role of race and nationalism in shaping attitudes toward immigrants, and the challenges facing immigrant individuals and families today. The conversation will also highlight the resilience of immigrant communities and the importance of building systems of support that expand opportunity and dignity for all.
Healing Illinois is funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services in partnership with The Field Foundation of Illinois and YWCA Evanston/North Shore.
The program will conclude with an audience Q&amp;A session.
