DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS AT ETHS — A CELEBRATION OF ART, CULTURE & COMMUNITY!
Join us on Friday, October 30, at 6:30 p.m., at Evanston Township High School (1600 Dodge Avenue, Evanston), for a special celebration featuring two distinguished Mexican artists:
- Alfonso “Poncho” Nieves Ruíz, local muralist, painter, sculptor, cultural advocate, and ETHS parent, who will contribute an original work of art to our altar.
- Ramiro Ramírez Duarte, an Indigenous Mexican musician of Hñähñu (Otomí) heritage, specializing in ancestral musical traditions.
Families will also enjoy traditional pan de muerto, hot chocolate, live music, children's arts and crafts, an animated movie, and our beautiful Día de los Muertos altar — featuring both La Catrina and her new companion, El Catrín!
Free and open to the entire community!
Please enter through Door 2 on the west side (back) of the school.
