The Musick Plays On: A Benefit Concert for Glioblastoma with "Second Hand News"

Event Details

Evanston SPACE, 1243 Chicago Ave, Evanston, IL, 60202

The Musick Plays On is a celebration of the life and legacy of Meg Musick-Makely, a Chicago native, artist, designer, and beloved member of her community who passed away in 2025 following a battle with glioblastoma. A lifelong lover of music, fittingly with the last name “Musick,” we can think of no better way to honor her than by bringing people together for an evening filled with the music, creativity, and joy she loved. Inspired by one of her favorite bands, Fleetwood Mac, the evening will feature a special performance by celebrated Fleetwood Mac tribute band Second Hand News, with proceeds benefiting the Glioblastoma Research Organization.

The evening will also celebrate Meg’s creativity, with her celebrated handbag and accessories line, Musick, on display and available for purchase, alongside a silent auction featuring special items and experiences donated in her honor. More than a benefit concert, The Musick Plays On is a night of music, memories, and community, keeping Meg’s spirit and artistry alive while helping fund research and create hope for families facing this devastating disease.
