Cellist Maya Beiser Performs "All Vows" in Evanston April 9

The "cello goddess" brings her newest production to Northwestern University's Pick-Staiger Concert Hall

Cellist Maya Beiser brings her newest production, All Vows, to Pick-Staiger Concert Hall at Northwestern University, on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 7:30pm. Featuring performances by Maya with Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and bassist Gyan Riley, All Vows explores the dichotomy between the physical, external world we inhabit and the inner landscape of our secret selves. It includes the Chicago-area premieres of Michael Gordon‘s All Vows and Michael Harrison’s Just Ancient Loops, as well as Glenn Kotche’s Three Parts Wisdom, and Mohammed Fairouz’s Kol Nidrei, plus re-imagined classic rock from Maya’s 2014 album Uncovered.

Maya Beiser has captivated audiences worldwide with her virtuosity, eclectic repertoire, and relentless quest to redefine her instrument’s boundaries. The Boston Globe declares, “With virtuoso chops, rock-star charisma, and an appetite for pushing her instrument to the edge of avant-garde adventurousness, Maya Beiser is the post-modern diva of the cello.”
